Bakblade vs Bro Shaver: Which Is Better? #1 Best

This post is Bakblade vs Bro Shaver. Which one is the king of the back shavers? And why? In this head-to-head showdown, I will thoroughly explain the positives and negatives and give my take on which one is the clear winner.

I have been using back shavers for over 20 years now. I also started this website in 2017 and have used and reviewed more back shavers (60+) than anyone else online. I only review products I have used. This is my passion, and I love helping people.

So, let’s get to it.

The Contenders

Currently, at the time of writing this, the current model of the Bakblade and The Bro Shaver is…

This is important as both back shavers have undergone upgrades over the years as different models have been released. So, if you are reading or watching an older video reviewing these two, consider it old news and no longer relevant.

Honesty Is Hard To Find Online

It’s a big shocker, I know.

Did you know most back shaver reviews online are written by people who have never used a back shaver? Yep. Not here, though, as I post unique personal pictures I have taken, so you can tell I have the back shaver in my own hands and not just writing about it from information found on the internet.

I use the product and then write about it. Thus, I base it on my personal experience using the product and my years of experience using back shavers. This is my expertise.

How do you tell if a website hasn’t really used a back shaver? It has no unique pictures. This is a dead giveaway. You can read more here Why You Should Trust My Reviews On Back Shavers?

Before We Start…

Both of these back shavers are great back shavers and are at the top of my list of recommended back shavers. They both will destroy back hair. This is just a more nuanced approach in the finer details, but also there are some major differences as well.

Let’s get to it!

Who Has The Better Quality Parts, Design, & Build?

Hands down, Bakblade 2.0 Elite Plus, in all matters, has better parts and better materials. Easily without question, the clear and concise winner here.

Here is why…

There are several different kinds of plastic on the handle of the Bakblade 2.0 Elite Plus, as well as the shaving head. This incorporates different textures and contours for gripping as well. On top of that, the handle for Bakblade folds in half for storage and travel; it is more adaptable.

The shaving head design on the Bakblade is also a better design than the Bro Shaver. Bakblade is the next level in back shaving, as stacking three shaving cartridges on top of each other is progress. This dramatically decreases shaving time, especially if you are really hairy and do a better job. Bro Shaver just uses the old one row of razors, thus stagnating in their past glory of yesteryears.

The Bro Shaver 2.2 is just cheaper in build quality and design. You can see this right off the bat in the underside of the handle. It’s not that comfortable in the hand, either, and this comes off as cheap. Compared to the Bakblade, there are no sharp edges, and it has one of the most comfortable handles.

What Back Shaver Won’t Cut You?

Bakblade wins this category, too. I have never been cut using any of the Bakblade models over the years! It just doesn’t happen. This is due to getting the very precise angle of the razor blade, the plastic teeth, and the relationship to the handle.

In older models of Bro Shaver, there were inconsistencies with how the plastic teeth covered the space between two razor blades. This has been addressed in Bro Shaver 2.2, as the razors have been reduced to two razors, and a larger tooth has been added where the two razors meet. Thus eliminating cuts due to this.

Bro Shaver gives you the option of choosing the razor blades you can use, though. To some people, this might be a key factor, as you save money and determine the type of cut the razor blade has. There are mild, sharp, really sharp safety razor blades you buy and use in the Bro Shaver, depending on your level of back hair and experience.

The Most Important – Which One Shaves Back Hair The Best?

Once again, the nod goes to Bakblade.

It comes down once again to the design, the design of the shaving head. The angle of the three shaving cartridges is spot on, and they shave hair effortlessly, leaving smooth paths of skin. Not only the angle but also the three-row of shaving cartridges.

The left is Bakblade, and the right is Bro Shaver. Three blades vs one blade

Essentially, it comes down to three blades (Bakblade) compared to one row of blades (Bro Shaver). Which one do you think would shave better? Yep, the three-row of blades. It just shaves better and in less time, too.

Which Shaver Is Cheaper In The Long Run?

The Bro Shaver takes this round, which is cheaper by at least two-fold over the Bakblade. Cheaper in the fact that you can buy much cheaper safety razors over the more expensive shaving cartridges. The Bro Shaver has only one set of razors compared to three sets of cartridges in the Bakblade.

Safety razor blades can be bought cheaply compared to shaving cartridges. This is a general rule of thumb to consider. In addition to being cheaper, you can also select the sharpness of the blades used as well as the brand. Safety razors can be purchased with different levels of sharpness. There is mild sharp, sharp, and super sharp.

Bro Shaver has more options as compared to Bakblade.

Final Thoughts About Bakblade vs. Bro Shaver

It’s quite clear that Bakblade 2.0 Elite Plus takes the championship belt. This all stems from the owner of Bakblade pushing his product to make it become better with each upgrade and never being settled with good enough. Over the years of reviewing Bakblade products, I have seen this effort.

Bakblade takes most of the categories and that is why I choose it as the apparent winner, but hopefully, you can determine for your own self through my detailed layout which is right for you. These both are great back shavers!

  1. Looking at your side-by-side comparison, I can certainly see why the Bakblade beat out the Bro Shaver! Three inexpensive blades are certainly better than a single, more expensive cartridge. I sure appreciate that you used both shavers before you reviewed them. I need something for my husband and this article came at exactly the right time! Are these the only two similar products on the market?

    • As stated, both are great shavers and both are at the very top of my ranked best back shavers currently available. I only write about back shavers I have used, a lot of websites that review back shavers never even have touched one.

There are actually a lot of similar products on the market but a lot of them are inferior to these two. After all these rank the highest. You can buy a cheaper model for $10.00 or $20.00 cheaper but it will perform a lot less than these two. Hope this helps. Let me know what the husband thinks when he gets his back shaver.
